7. FINANCIAL & ECONOMIC LITERACY

Maryknoll students gain the mathematics and economic skills to understand personal finances as well as regional, national and global economic trends. They learn the principles to create their own financial future and navigate the opportunities and challenges of globalization.

Beginning with the class of 2020, all Maryknoll students are required to take a financial literacy elective course to fulfill graduation requirements. Courses that count toward this requirement include:

Advanced Algebra
Accounting
Introduction to Entrepreneurship
Personal Finance
Economics
AP Economics

Students who are particularly interested in finance and economics may consider pursuing the Maryknoll Exceptional Scholar Certificate in Business. Courses required to earn this Certificate include:
