Thomas Broderick

Tom grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and experienced a Catholic education from second grade through high school. He graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He started his professional career with the Peter Kiewit Sons’ Inc. and continues his 45-year employment with the firm, through an affiliate, Kiewit Building Group Inc. He attributes his long career with Kiewit to his and the firm’s sense of loyalty but also to an alignment of their values regarding people, integrity, excellence, and stewardship. Tom worked across the western United States for his first ten years after graduation before moving to Hawaii in 1990. Here, he met his wife Laurie and the two married in 1999. Tom and Laurie have three children, Ashley, Amber ’22, and Aaron ’24. Tom is a Facilities Committee member and Chair for four years. While he relinquished his Facilities Committee Chair duties at the end of 2024, he remains an active member. He has been a Maryknoll School Board member for over four years and assumed his role as Chair in 2024. Tom has also served as a member of the Board’s Executive Committee for over three years.
